The Summer Spare the Air Season has begun and again Marin Transit is participating in the Spare the Air Free Transit program. On Thursday, June 19th, all Marin Transit bus, shuttle, and Stagecoach services will be free all day. Visit 511.org for more information. Detour on Route 233 Santa Venetia Shuttle (May 19 to mid-October)

Due to construction, the Linden Lane undercrossing of Hwy 101 will be closed from May 19 to mid-October. Route 233 Santa Venetia Shuttle will operate on detour during this time. Please review the attached flyer or call 256-8832 for information on effected stops.

Public Hearing on New Fare Media and Transfer Policy
August 21, 2008
The Marin Transit Board will hear comments on proposed new local fare media and an amendment to the current local transfer policy on September 15, 2008 at 10:00 am. Board Approves Capital and Operating Improvements
May 21, 2008
At their May 16th meeting, the Marin Transit Board of Directors adopted service and capital improvements to the Marin local system. Three additional hours of mid-day weekday service on the Route 233 serving Santa Venetia to San Rafael will be implemented in September, and additional weekday peak-period service on the Route 17 serving Mill Valley to San Rafael and the Route 29 serving Ross Valley, Marin General Hospital, the Canal and San Rafael are expected in December. Adopted capital improvements include the purchase of new hybrid vehicles.

Use TransLink® on Routes Operated by Golden Gate Transit

TransLink® is now available on all Marin Transit routes operated by Golden Gate Transit. Using TransLink®, adult local trips cost $1.80 (a 20 cent discount). Fill out this survey to recieved a free card ($5 value). Free cards are available to the first 1,000 customers. TransLink is not available on the West Marin Stagecoach or our Community Shuttles.

Senior Travel Training
August 2, 2007
Marin Transit launched a Senior Travel Training program in July. The first group training at The Redwoods was a great success with over 50 seniors attending. We are recruiting volunteers familar with the Marin County bus system to serve as as transit ambassadors. Benefits include transit tickets.
